Construction Inspector / Junior Construction Inspector
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Austin, or San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time
In the role of a Construction Inspector or Junior Construction Inspector, we will count on you
to:
- Performs inspection and observations directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
- Perform inspection on projects requiring expertise and knowledge in multiple areas of construction inspection.
- Read and interpret plans and construction specifications.
- Perform tests on materials (as needed) to determine if work is done according to contract specifications.
- Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
- Performs basic review of inspections and data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
- Communicates information to Project Manager and other PM.
- Has experience in multiple areas of inspection and field testing.
- Trains lower level inspectors.
- May direct and supervise activities of other construction inspectors on larger projects.
- May plan, schedule and dispatch other staff to project sites based on technician skill set, certifications, location, project, and priority.
- May interact with client and other site personnel on behalf of the Project Manager when directed.
- May assist Project Manager in development of scope inspection and testing services.
- Maintains equipment operation and calibration (as needed).
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred certifications: ACI Field, TXAPA 102, TXAPA Level 1B, Nuclear Density Safety and Operation.
- Ability to perform work on active jobsite in safe, proficient manner required.
- Ability to prepare reports and documentation with attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, nights and weekends).
- Requires the ability to lift / carry a case that weighs 95 pounds and push up to 250 pounds in a wheelbarrow.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to represent TCS and its clients in a professional manner at all times.
- Must have a clear driving record; a DMV check will be conducted.
Compensation includes competitive base salary, supplemental pay for additional hours worked,

- Performs testing as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
- Perform tests on materials to determine if work is done according to contract specifications.
- Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
- Performs basic review of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
- Communicates information to Project Manager.
- Has experience and proficiency in multiple areas of field testing and/or laboratory testing.
- Trains lower level technicians.
- May direct and supervise activities of other engineering technicians.
- May plan, schedule and dispatch Technicians to project sites based on technician skill set, certifications, location, project, and priority.
